Shakespeare Beyond Bars:
Graduates of The Shakespeare Prison Project Build on Their Success
Since 2004, nearly 800 prisoners' lives have been touched by The Shakespeare Project. Some participate as actors, others as production assistants, and many others as audience members. Prisoners and educators at other Wisconsin prisons are aware of what is happening at Racine Correctional Institution. Inspired by our work, some of them are planning to develop their own Shakespeare programs.
The links below tell the stories of four of the graduates of The Shakespeare Prison Project - formerly incarcerated men who are now forging new lives in their communities. Their work with Shakespeare Prison Project has been an important part of their growth, and success.
