Development

In 2014-2015, The Shakespeare Prison Project expanded from an 8-month to a 12-month course of study.  After studying, rehearsing, and performing a Shakespeare play, prisoners now develop autobiographical performances inspired by their work with Shakespeare.  ~ Dr. Jonathan Shailor is currently developing a new workbook that will provide new tools for students to explore patterns of communication in Shakespeare's plays.  Students will see characters' choices of interpretation, intention, and action are pivotal in creating happiness - or suffering - for themselves, and others. The workbook will guide students to apply these lessons to their own lives.
